First-ever startup guide written in Uzbek language launched

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Muhammad Khalil, founder of the venture studio Startup Garage and the online educational platform Mohirdev, has today launched a five-part series of startup guides, written entirely in Uzbek. This series is aimed at making business and startup knowledge more accessible to young people across Uzbekistan.

The event took place in Andijan, a city known for its deep cultural and linguistic ties to Uzbek identity. The launch was attended by local entrepreneurs, educators, and innovation leaders. According to Khalil, the location of the event was symbolic and reflected the need for decentralized access to startup knowledge and the strengthening of regional entrepreneurship.

“The goal of the series is to support aspiring entrepreneurs, especially outside the capital, by offering them practical advice in their native language,” explained Mr. Khalil. “In every region I visited, I saw talented young people full of ideas, but they struggled to find resources they could use. This series is meant to ensure that language is no longer a barrier to creating something meaningful.”

The five books, covering the fundamentals of startups, marketing, sales, business models, and venture thinking, are part of a broader concept to support the growing innovation ecosystem in Uzbekistan. This series is part of the larger Startup Garage vision to expand opportunities for young entrepreneurs in the country and to make the startup scene more inclusive and accessible. Local government and technology community representatives have welcomed the initiative.

Bakhram Jalilov, head of IT Park in the Fergana region, noted: “For the first time, we have startup education developed by our own people for our people. This is a big step for our youth and the future of entrepreneurship in Uzbekistan. By offering startup education in the Uzbek language, Startup Garage not only expands the opportunities for young entrepreneurs but also makes our innovation ecosystem truly inclusive and accessible.”

As the government continues to invest in digital technologies and empower youth, initiatives like Khalil’s are seen as a timely contribution to the creation of a knowledge-based economy — one that speaks not only on a global level but also in Uzbek.
