First deputy khokim of Navbakhor district was detained for corruption
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The State Security Service of Uzbekistan detained the first deputy governor of Navbahor district of Navoi region, Oybek Hayirov, when he was receiving a bribe.
According to the TV channel "Uzbekistan 24", he was detained when he was receiving bribe for US$4,000 and 16 million soums.
Hayirov demanded money to assist in obtaining the decision of the khokim to lay a 6-km water canal from the collector to the territory of the fish breeding enterprise in Kanimekh District.
Employees of the SSC found out that previously detained person received US$3,500 and 4 million soums for issuing necessary decision on the case.
A criminal case has been opened against the official. Investigative actions are being carried out.
