First Deputy Chair of Uzbekistan’s Senate Meets Newly Appointed Japanese Ambassador
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 2 December, First Deputy Chair of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Sodiq Safoyev held a meeting with Kenji Hirata, the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Uzbekistan.
During the meeting, the parties discussed key issues of bilateral cooperation, including the development of inter-parliamentary dialogue, as well as the current state and future prospects of cooperation in the fields of economy, science, and higher education.
Special attention was given to new areas of engagement aimed at expanding economic, investment, and scientific-technical ties between the two countries.
The sides also underscored the role of cooperation groups in the Senate and the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, as well as the Japan–Uzbekistan Parliamentary Friendship League, in strengthening bilateral relations.
