First Central Asia–EU Parliamentary Forum Opens in Samarkand
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The first Central Asia–European Union interparliamentary forum opened in Samarkand, marking a new chapter in regional cooperation.
The initiative for the forum was proposed by the President of Uzbekistan during the Central Asia–EU Summit on 4 April 2025.
The event brings together parliamentarians from Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan, along with members of the European Parliament, international organization representatives, civil society, academics, and business leaders.
The forum program includes key thematic sessions covering the state and prospects of political dialogue between the two regions, green transformation and economic interconnectivity, digital space security, inclusive governance, and the role of parliamentary diplomacy in modern international relations.
