First Batch of Hyundai Rotem High-Speed Trains Shipped to Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A ceremony was held at the Masan port in Changwon, South Korea, to mark the dispatch of the first batch of Hyundai Rotem high-speed trains, manufactured for Uzbekistan.
The event was attended by the Uzbek delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Khodjaev, representatives of the Government of the Republic of Korea, and Hyundai Rotem management.
The first next-generation train for Uzbekistan’s high-speed rail network, named “Jaloliddin Manguberdi”, was produced under the contract signed between Uzbekistan Railways and Hyundai Rotem in June 2024.
The shipment of the first batch of trains marks a significant milestone in the project to renew and modernize the country’s passenger rolling stock.
