Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The first batch of high-quality green tea in 2026, weighing 300 tons, has been shipped from Jiajiang County, Sichuan Province, China, to Tashkent, according  to Dunyo news agency. The shipment was transported by ten trucks.

According to China’s Xinhua news agency, the cargo will cross the border through a checkpoint in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region and then follow the China–Kyrgyzstan–Uzbekistan route to the Uzbek capital.

Jiajiang County has in recent years actively transformed its tea industry with a focus on export. In 2025, the total value of tea exports from Jiajiang reached approximately US$29 million. Additionally, the county established the first overseas tea warehouse for Sichuan Province in Uzbekistan.

The county’s export geography covers around twenty countries and regions, including Russia, Morocco, and others.

China remains a key trading partner for Uzbekistan: in 2025, the external trade turnover between the two countries exceeded US$17.2 billion, with China accounting for 21.2% of Uzbekistan’s total foreign trade.
