Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 14 March at 10:50 PM, the regional emergency services department received a report of a fire at the Kutubkhona (Library) building on Shohrukh Mirzo Street in Samarkand.

Six fire and rescue crews were immediately dispatched to the scene, arriving at 10:57 PM and fully extinguishing the fire by 11:55 PM.

The blaze partially damaged the ceiling and roof of the building. No casualties were reported.

A preliminary investigation is currently underway to determine the cause of the incident.
