Fire in Gulistan: Three Dead, 26 Hospitalized
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 2 December, a fire broke out at a food stall in the Tarakkiyot neighborhood of Gulistan, resulting in three fatalities and 26 people sustaining burns and injuries of varying severity.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan, the injured were hospitalized at the branch of the Republican Scientific Center for Emergency Medical Care in Syrdarya Region. Three other individuals with minor injuries received outpatient treatment on-site and were sent home.
Among the hospitalized patients, one remains in critical condition and is on mechanical ventilation. Five patients are in intensive care in stable but serious condition. Specialists at the center, including burn specialists, intensivists, neurosurgeons, and trauma surgeons, continue to provide medical assistance.
Two pregnant patients were transferred to a specialized Maternal and Child Health Center, where their condition is reported as satisfactory.
“The hospital has a full supply of necessary medications, and patients are receiving qualified care in accordance with established standards,” the Ministry of Health noted.
The condition of each victim is under direct oversight by the ministry.
