Fines for driving in "A" lanes reserved for public transport proposed in Uzbekiustan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan is considering the introduction of fines for driving in "A" lanes, which are designated for public transport such as buses and minivans.
The Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis is developing a draft law, which will be presented to the factions of political parties for discussion. This document aims to improve the efficiency of public transport operations.
Under the proposal, a new article will be added to the Administrative Responsibility Code, establishing penalties for violating traffic rules in dedicated lanes.
For a first violation, a fine of 3 sizes of basic estimated value is proposed (currently equivalent to 1,125,000 soums). A repeat offense within one year could result in a fine of 5 base calculation units (1,875,000 soums).
