Ferghana Region Expands Partnership with Pyeongtaek
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Hokim of Ferghana Region, Khairullo Bozorov, hosted a delegation from the Republic of Korea led by Pyeongtaek Mayor Jeong Chang Son on a working visit to the region.
During the meeting, both sides highlighted the dynamic growth of the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and South Korea, noting that interregional cooperation has reached a new level. Established ties between Ferghana Region and Pyeongtaek are already producing tangible results.
Mayor Jeong Chang Son and Pyeongtaek Chamber of Commerce head Kang Soo Lee expressed gratitude for the warm reception and emphasized that collaboration is increasingly moving toward practical implementation of joint initiatives.
The discussions included prospects for economic development, trade and industry cooperation, tourism, sports, and other areas. Responsibilities were assigned, and specific measures agreed upon to expand the partnership and accelerate the execution of planned projects.
For reference, Pyeongtaek, located in Gyeonggi Province, hosts a major seaport and has significant economic potential. The city is a hub for the semiconductor industry, hydrogen economy, and next-generation automotive manufacturing in South Korea.
