Ferghana Region Delegation Holds Talks with Leading Malaysian Companies on Fruit and Dried Fruit Supplies

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A delegation from Uzbekistan’s Ferghana region is on a working visit to Malaysia to develop bilateral trade cooperation.

The delegation is headed by Sherzod Yuldashev, Head of the Territorial Administration of the Ferghana Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

During the visit, meetings were held with major companies engaged in the import and distribution of fruits and vegetables through the country’s leading retail networks.

Hoi Yong Fruits, one of Malaysia’s main suppliers of fruits and vegetables, expressed strong interest in Uzbek products, particularly pomegranates. The product is in high demand in the Malaysian market, and the company is ready to organize its import.

Successful negotiations were also held with Al Hijrah Global Sdn Bhd, one of the largest distributors of dates and dried fruits in Malaysia.

As a result of the meetings, the parties agreed on the supply of dried fruits — including raisins, dried apricots, and cherries — as well as fresh fruits, including pomegranates and fresh cherries.

The visit is expected to expand export opportunities for Ferghana producers and strengthen the presence of Uzbek products in the Southeast Asian market.
