Ferghana-Korea Business Forum Held in Seoul
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Ferghana-Korea Business Forum took place in Seoul, organized with the support of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in the Republic of Korea. The event brought together over 100 representatives from the business communities of Ferghana Region and South Korea.
Opening the forum, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Uzbekistan to South Korea Alisher Abdusalomov emphasized that such meetings strengthen economic cooperation between the two countries and open new opportunities for business partnerships.
Khokim of Ferghana Region Khairullo Bozorov highlighted that relations between Uzbekistan and South Korea have reached the level of strategic partnership in recent years. He noted that South Korea remains one of Uzbekistan’s most reliable and important economic partners.
Forum participants received information on promising projects in industry, agriculture, education, and tourism. Special attention was given to creating favorable conditions for foreign investors, including extensive opportunities and incentives under the initiatives of the President of Uzbekistan.
It was emphasized that the Ferghana Valley, home to about 11 million people, has significant economic potential, and a market of 300 million people exists within its radius. Information on free economic zones, tech parks, and specialized industrial areas in the region was also presented.
Ku Gi Do, CEO of AHA Co., Ltd, expressed confidence that the forum would spur the launch of new joint projects between the business communities of both countries. He noted that the company’s investment initiatives in Ferghana are based on mutual trust and long-term interests.
Deputy Khokim Nuriddin Mamadzhonov delivered a presentation on the region’s investment and industrial potential, as well as government measures to support entrepreneurship, highlighting the favorable business climate and investor rights protections.
During B2B meetings, Uzbek and Korean companies discussed specific areas of cooperation and prospects for implementing joint projects.
