Ferghana Hosts Open Dialogue on Tourism Development

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — An open dialogue with representatives of the tourism sector was held in Ferghana region to discuss key issues and prospects for regional tourism development.

The event was organized under the directive of the Office of the President of Uzbekistan to establish direct dialogue with tourism entrepreneurs, identify promising projects, and develop regional practical programs.

The Republican working group, led by Abdullaziz Akkulov, Chairman of the Committee for Tourism of Uzbekistan, visited the region for the discussions.

Participants included representatives of the regional hokimiyat, relevant authorities and organizations, and over 45 tourism entrepreneurs, including tour operators, hotel owners, catering businesses, transport companies, and cultural and recreational facility managers.

During the meeting, participants were presented with detailed information on tourism projects implemented in 2025, key achievements, and the current state of the industry in Ferghana.

Special attention was given to priority development areas for 2026–2027, including improving tourism infrastructure, developing new products and routes, increasing visitor flow, and expanding support for private entrepreneurship in the sector.

Based on proposals and initiatives from industry stakeholders, concrete plans and recommendations were formulated for the implementation of promising projects to further unlock Ferghana’s tourism potential.

The planned initiatives are expected to enhance the region’s tourist appeal, create new jobs, and increase local income.
