Ferghana begins cherry exports
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Cherries have ripened in the orchards of Quva district in Ferghana region, and preparations for export are now in full swing, according to the regional khokimiyat.
Early-ripening cherry varieties are in demand not only in Uzbekistan but also abroad. As a result, special attention is being paid to cherry exports in the region, with modern packaging methods being used.
In 2024, Ferghana region exported 15,000 tons of cherries. The main importing countries included Russia, China, South Korea, Lithuania, the UAE, Poland, Ukraine, Belgium, as well as neighboring Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan.
During the export process, inspectors from the Regional Department of Plant Quarantine and Protection provide growers and exporters with the necessary assistance and consultations.
In addition, favorable conditions have been created for agricultural exporters at border checkpoints in the region.
