Ferghana and Sughd Expand Cooperation in Trade, Transport, and the Social Sphere
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Hokim of Ferghana Region, Khayrullo Bozorov, held a meeting with the Chairman of the Sughd Region of the Republic of Tajikistan, Rajabboy Ahmadzoda.
During the meeting, both sides noted that thanks to the strong political will of the leaders of the two countries, friendship and strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Tajikistan have reached a new level of allied relations.
Particular attention was paid to expanding cooperation between the Ferghana and Sughd regions in the areas of transport and logistics, trade and economic development, as well as the social sphere.
The parties emphasized the importance of maintaining regular and constructive dialogue between regional leaders to achieve sustainable results and successfully implement mutually beneficial projects.
It was also noted that business ties between entrepreneurs of the two countries are expanding, with new promising joint initiatives being launched.
Special emphasis was placed on the active participation of Tajik artisans in the 3rd International Festival of Folk Crafts held in Kokand, and on the need to organize more cultural events and festivals that promote interregional cooperation.
Currently, 12 enterprises with Tajik capital are operating in Ferghana Region. A free trade zone is being established in the border village of Andarkhon in the Besharyk district, which will open new opportunities for cooperation and economic growth.
The parties discussed further steps to expand mutually beneficial collaboration and stressed that the Peace Forum, held for the first time in Ferghana, will serve as an important platform for developing interregional ties and strengthening friendship between the peoples of the two countries.
