Ferghana and Omsk Regions Strengthen Cooperation in Economy and Industry
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A meeting was held in Tashkent today between Khairullo Bozorov and Vitaly Khotsenko, Governor of Russia’s Omsk Region, to discuss the development of bilateral cooperation.
Khairullo Bozorov expressed gratitude to the guests for their visit and emphasized that the strategic partnership and allied relations between Uzbekistan and Russia continue to strengthen.
Special attention was paid to enhancing regional-level cooperation. Ferghana Region successfully collaborates with Russian partners in the textile, energy, petrochemical, and furniture industries, as well as in services and urban development projects.
The region hosts over 165 joint ventures with Russian investors, providing a strong platform for large-scale projects and industrial cooperation. The meeting highlighted that mutually beneficial collaboration with Omsk Region has been established, with several joint projects already implemented across various economic sectors.
Governor Vitaly Khotsenko emphasized the dynamic growth of economic and industrial cooperation between the two countries and expressed readiness to further strengthen interaction with Ferghana Region.
He noted the high demand in Russia for Uzbek fruits and agricultural products and highlighted opportunities provided by the fruit processing and logistics center in Kuvand.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to further expand the scale of cooperation and implement joint programs and projects.
