Ferghana and Batken Expand Trade, Economic, and Cultural Ties
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Khayrullo Bozorov, Hokim of Ferghana Region, held a meeting with Oybek Shamenov, the authorized representative of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic in Batken Region, with the participation of Duyshonkul Chotonov, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to Uzbekistan, within the framework of the Peace Forum.
The sides noted the steady development of good-neighborly and friendly relations between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan, emphasizing that all issues concerning the state border have been resolved based on mutual trust and agreement.
Khayrullo Bozorov stressed that peace and stability have been established in the border areas and outlined large-scale reforms and construction projects underway in the region, with particular focus on fostering cooperation between Ferghana and Batken Regions.
In turn, Oybek Shamenov highlighted that similar initiatives are being implemented in Kyrgyzstan, made possible by the peaceful and stable environment. He expressed confidence that holding the Peace Forum in Ferghana would strengthen international ties and elevate the friendly relations between the two countries to a new level.
During the meeting, measures were also agreed upon to further expand interregional cooperation in trade, economic, cultural, humanitarian, and tourism spheres.
For reference, Ferghana Region is home to 50 enterprises with Kyrgyz capital participation.
