Favorable conditions to be created for the development of the furniture and woodworking industry
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has signed a decree titled “On Additional Measures to Create Favorable Conditions for the Development of the Furniture and Woodworking Industry.”
According to this document, key target indicators for the development of the sector have been set for the period from 2025 to 2028. These include increasing the production volumes of furniture and woodworking products by 30 percent, achieving export volumes of 100 million US dollars, and providing employment for 50,000 people with the creation of stable sources of income.
Until 1 January 2029, a reduced customs duty of 1% will be applied to imports of raw materials, spare parts, fittings, and accessories used in furniture manufacturing.
Starting from 1 July 2025, individual entrepreneurs operating from home will be granted the right to engage in furniture production.
From 1 August 2025, the state will reimburse 50% of the costs incurred by local furniture technologists for obtaining professional certifications from internationally recognized organizations in developed countries.
