Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- An online meeting of the head of the agency Uzbekkino Firdavs Abdukhalikov, director Rashid Malikov and producer Oybek Fayziev with the famous Russian actor, director and producer Janik Fayziev took place today.
The head of the Uzbekkino acquainted the famous filmmaker with the progress of reforms carried out in the field of the film industry. The parties outlined plans for joint cooperation in the production of a number of film projects and discussed issues of their implementation.
At the beginning of the conversation, Janik Fayziev noted the positive and large-scale changes taking place in Uzbekistan.
“For a year now, I have been closely watching what is happening in Uzbekistan, and I am very inspired. It seems to me that everything is going well. An acquaintance of mine, a serious businessman, expressed the opinion that Uzbekistan is turning into one of the most attractive countries for investment. Finally, a decent land and people get a decent development. It is gratifying to note that the film industry is also systematically developing, it is becoming interesting for foreign filmmakers,” said Janik Fayziev.
During the online meeting, Uzbek producer Oybek Fayziev spoke about a new project at Uzbekkino - a film dedicated to the victory of Uzbek boxers at the Olympics in Rio.
“It was a sensational victory for our athletes, and we should be proud of it. Our youth really need motivational films that will make them change their lives for the better, teach them dedication and perseverance. Sports drama tentatively titled Invincible. Road to Rio” is based on real events. Now the script of the film is being written. We are supported by the National Olympic Committee, the Ministry of Sports and the Boxing Federation. The Federation ensures the participation of foreign actors in the film, it has undertaken financial obligations to pay the artists’ fees,” said Oybek Fayziev.
Janik Fayziev noted that this project is definitely interesting, since similar films about the victories of athletes in Russia are very popular. The director expressed his readiness to provide technical and advisory assistance in the implementation of the project.
In turn, Firdavs Abdukhalikov told Janik Fayziev about three major national film projects, which Uzbekkino is currently working on. These are films about Amir Timur, Imam Al Bukhari and the Great Silk Road. Janik Fayziev expressed his readiness to participate in these projects and provide comprehensive support in their implementation. The director also recommended attracting foreign actors and foreign film specialists to participate in films.
It should be noted that “Uzbekkino” in the last year has already successfully attracted compatriots - famous filmmakers who for one reason or another left our country for partnership.
“It is very important for us that filmmakers living abroad have contributed to the development of the domestic film industry. For example, the well-known director Ali Khamraev, who has lived in Italy for many years, this year, at the invitation of Uzbekkino, shot in Uzbekistan the film "People’s Feat" in record time. This film was successfully broadcast during the celebration of the victory over fascism on May 9 this year. We are also working on plans to involve Yusup Razykov, Elyor Ishmukhamedov, Odelsha Agishev and others in our film projects. We have very close, friendly ties with our fellow countrymen," commented Rashid Malikov, a film director, member of the public council of the Uzbekkino.
