EY Appoints Aleksey Loza as Senior Audit Partner and Leader of the Energy and Industrial Sector in Central Asia

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — EY has announced the appointment of Aleksey Loza as Senior Audit Partner for the company’s Uzbekistan practice and as Leader of the Energy, Extractive, and Industrial Sectors across the Caucasus and Central Asia.

This appointment strengthens EY’s regional leadership and underscores the growing strategic importance of the region’s energy and industrial sectors. It also highlights Uzbekistan’s role as a key growth market and demonstrates the firm’s long-term commitment to supporting clients and advancing the transformation of the energy landscape.

Aleksey Loza brings 30 years of international experience in accounting and finance, with deep expertise in the oil and gas, energy, and power sectors. He has led some of EY’s largest global projects for international energy companies and is recognized as an expert in financial reporting, internal controls, and complex accounting transactions, including work with commodities and derivatives. In recent years, he has held positions as Head of Commodity Markets in the United States, Energy Sector Leader for Central, Eastern, and Southeastern Europe and Central Asia, and as a Global Partner on major energy client projects. He regularly speaks at industry forums and publishes expert analyses on energy and finance.

“The energy sector in Uzbekistan has entered a critical phase of transformation, positioning the country as one of the main drivers of change in Central Asia. Rich natural resources, consistent reforms, and strategic infrastructure development create significant opportunities for integration into global supply chains and the advancement of sustainable technologies for the future.

In addition to Uzbekistan’s accelerating progress in renewable energy and infrastructure modernization, the mining sector—particularly critical minerals—will play a decisive role in meeting global demand for clean energy and high-tech solutions. EY will continue to provide expert support to projects in Uzbekistan aimed at enhancing transparency, strengthening investor confidence, and implementing international standards in the energy and resource sectors,” emphasized Aleksey Loza.
