Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – On 2 March, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree “On the State Program for the Implementation of an Action Strategy for the five priority areas for the development of the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2017–2021 in the Year of the Development of Science, Education and the Digital Economy”.
According to the Decree, in the field of economic development and active investment attraction
- from 2020, the practice of establishing a state plan for the production and compulsory sale of cotton and its price has been canceled; the volume of compulsory sale of grain to the state is reduced by 25 percent;
- in 2020, the number of licenses and other permits is reduced by at least two times;
- from 1 June 2020, measures will be taken to improve the quality of banking services provided to the population and business entities, as well as to expand the types of modern retail banking services;
- Until 1 June 2020, an Export Credit Agency for pre-export financing will be created;
- from 1 June 2020, the state will reimburse part of the costs of exporting goods by road and air to local exporters, as well as compensation will be paid for part of the costs of entrepreneurs to create infrastructure;
- In 2020, at least 800 thousand broadband Internet ports will be created and 12 thousand kilometers of fiber-optic communication lines laid.
