Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A gas-air mixture explosion occurred in the kitchen of an apartment in a multi-story residential building in Tashkent, according to the press service of Uzbekistan's Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES).

The incident took place on 26 February at 17:37 in the “Dustobod” mahalla of Yashnabad district on Maftunkuli Street. The Tashkent Fire Safety Department received the report, and emergency response teams were immediately dispatched to the scene. Despite the powerful blast, no fire followed.

As a result of the explosion, one person sustained burns and was hospitalized.

Authorities, including officers from the General Directorate of Internal Affairs, MES, the Sanitary and Epidemiological Service, the Prosecutor’s Office, and other relevant agencies, arrived at the scene. An investigation is currently underway to determine the cause of the incident.
