Events dedicated to the memory of the writer Abdullah Qadiri starts in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A spiritual and educational event entitled "Abdulla Qadiri - from the treasury of Uzbek literature" was held at the Abdulla Qadiri Memorial Museum. The event was opened by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Minister of Tourism and Sports Aziz Abdukhakimov.

“Much attention in our country is paid to the preservation of the cultural, educational and spiritual heritage and its worthy transmission to the future generation, including, the approach to our museums is radically changing. The recent event at the Sergei Borodin House-Museum and today’s meeting dedicated to the memory of Abdulla Qadiri are the beginning of these events. In turn, I want to emphasize that from now on, attention will be increased to the museums of all our writers, including to the houses of museums,” said Aziz Abdukhakimov.

Aziz Abdukhakimov stressed that the government of Uzbekistan is always ready to support young people who are making efforts to preserve our invaluable heritage in this direction. In particular, he announced that a documentary film about Qadiri’s work will be shot, which will be widely shown on screens and in animated films, for which grants will also be used Qadiri’s work.

In addition, the Deputy Prime Minister added that separate funds will be allocated to translate the works of Abdullah Qadiri into many languages, promote the writer’s work in other countries, and create popular science works in this area.

Exactly 83 years ago, a number of selfless educators of our nation, great talents, defenders of the Motherland, supporters of the country’s development, freedom, prosperity, leaders with an awakened heart and mind, thirsting for enlightenment, were brutally executed. On 4 October 1938, famous poets and writers such as Abdulla Kadiri, Abdulhamid Chulpan, Abdurauf Fitrat, literary critics Gazi Olim Yunusov, Kayum Ramazan, Atjan Khashimov, Majid Kadyrov, Ziyo Saidov, the first Uzbek film director and photographer Khudaybergen Divanov were sentenced to death.

At the event, special attention was paid to the memory of the life and work of one of the outstanding figures of Uzbek literature, Abdullah Qadiri. As part of the event dedicated to the memory of the actors of the State Drama Theater of Uzbekistan, a fragment from the play "Feast of Evil Spirits" was presented.

A competition for the best picture about the life and work of Abdulla Qadiri has started among talented students of the National Institute of Arts and Design named after Kamoliddin Behzod. The competition will run until October 14, based on the results of which the winners will be awarded.

At the same time, it is worth noting that on 4-14 October, Uzbekistan provides for widespread propaganda of Kadiri’s work, including expressive reading of his works, demonstration of films based on his works, organizing a challenge to promote Kadiri’s work on social networks, showing performances based on his works in theaters of the republic, presentations of books and a number of other cultural and educational events.
