Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Strategic Reforms Agency of Uzbekistan hosted a meeting between its Director, Bakhodir Rakhmatov, and Toivo Klaar, Head of the European Union Delegation to Uzbekistan. The meeting was also attended by Elbek Khodjaev, Project Manager of the EU Delegation, and Attaché Jana Kurpisa.

The sides held in-depth discussions on current progress and future steps under the "Country Platform" initiative, which aims to coordinate the efforts of international partners in supporting Uzbekistan’s reform agenda.

Special attention was paid to improving the platform’s operational efficiency, as well as to the draft Presidential Decree intended to strengthen its institutional framework and update its structure.

The parties also reviewed an initiative to organize a regional foresight seminar titled "The Future of Central Asia – 2050." The EU delegation expressed readiness to co-organize the event, facilitate participation of regional delegates, and provide an international moderator.

The seminar is envisioned as an innovative platform for dialogue on long-term development scenarios for Central Asia, covering trade, energy, environmental, and social issues.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to deepening cooperation and advancing the shared reform agenda.
