EU–Uzbekistan Cooperation Council meeting to be held in Luxembourg

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Cooperation Council between the European Union (EU) and Uzbekistan will hold its 18th meeting on Tuesday, 21 October, in Luxembourg.

The meeting will be chaired by Kaja Kallas, the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy. The Uzbek delegation will be headed by Bakhtiyor Saidov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

During the session, the parties will exchange views on political, economic, and trade matters, as well as discuss areas of cooperation, including domestic and constitutional reforms, justice and home affairs, human rights, gender equality, and the rule of law. Discussions will also cover Uzbekistan’s participation in the GSP+ initiative, accession to the WTO, trade barriers and restrictions, critical raw materials (CRM), connectivity, and energy cooperation.

In addition, the sides will address regional and international issues, including cooperation in mitigating risks related to sanctions.
