EU launches new project on training managers in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The European Union launched a new project in Uzbekistan. An opening ceremony of the project was held in Tashkent.

The project “Management training programme – Capacity building for small and medium enterprise management in Uzbekistan” will be implemented till August 2016.

The project is financed by the European Union and implemented by the consortium led by the European Profiles S.A. (Greece), which also included WYG International Limited (Great Britain), Chamber of Commerce and Industry Paris Ile-de-France, Chamberof Commerce and Industry of Birmingham (Great Britain), PLANET S.A. (Greece) and Anticrisis Management Consulting (Uzbekistan).

Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan is a primary beneficiary of the project and it undertakes the role of the project partner and contributes to implementation of the project through provision of in-kind logistical, technical support and training facilities. Other business support organizations will be beneficiaries of the project as well.

The objective of the project is to increase the stock of qualified and component entrepreneurs and managers (human capital) able to effectively start up and manage local small and medium businesses and ensure their sustainable development in long-term perspectives.

The project will carry out several measures on training managers and experts from Uzbekistan. In particular, the representatives of the small and medium business from Uzbekistan will undergo internship in the EU states.

Within the project, experts of the business support organizations (at least 115 people) will also improve their skills in the EU countries. It is also planned to strengthen potential of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan and its experts, as well as organizations, supporting business entities.

The internship and trainings will be free for participants from Uzbekistan and for all accepting countries of the EU. The internship will be held in three stages – 2014, 2015 and 2016. The internship term is from 4 to 6 weeks.

Team leader Grigorios Kontzoglou said that the project will allow managers from Uzbekistan to exchange opinion with the European colleague and study modern methods of management. They also will be able to establish relations with new partners from the EU states.
