Erkin Turdimov Appointed as Hokim of Syrdarya Region
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Erkin Turdimov has been officially appointed as the Hokim (Governor) of Syrdarya Region. Previously, he served as the acting head of the region.
His candidacy was presented by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev at an extraordinary session of the regional Kengash of People’s Deputies.
The new hokim has been assigned specific tasks to implement the region’s socio-economic development plans.
In particular, for 2026, the goals include attracting US$3 billion in investment, increasing exports to US$500 million, and ensuring employment for 185,000 residents.
The overarching aim of these initiatives is to transform Syrdarya Region into one of the country’s leading regions, improving the standard of living and strengthening its economic potential.
