Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A delegation of entrepreneurs from Uzbekistan’s Ferghana Region, led by Sherzod Yuldashev, head of the regional office of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, conducted a business visit to Malaysia, holding a series of meetings with major companies and industry organizations.
During the trip, the delegation met with the management of one of Malaysia’s largest retail chains, KK Super Mart.
As a result of the discussions, a preliminary agreement was reached on the phased introduction of products from Ferghana Region producers into the chain’s stores.
The delegation also held negotiations with companies specializing in the import of fruit and vegetable products, including Hoi Yong Fruits and Al Hijrah Global Sdn Bhd. Malaysian business representatives expressed strong interest in Uzbek products, particularly pomegranates and dried fruits.
Special attention during the visit was given to cooperation in the textile and light industry sectors. Meetings with industry organizations MATMA, MATAC, and FMFTA focused on prospects for exporting Ferghana’s textile products to the Malaysian market.
It was noted that a “Ferghana Trade House” is planned to open soon in Kuala Lumpur, which will serve as a key platform for promoting products from the region not only to Malaysia but also to markets across Southeast Asia.
