Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- According to preliminary data, in January-March 2020, enterprises in Uzbekistan produced industrial products worth 82.2 trillion soums, the index of physical volume of industrial production compared to the same period in 2019 made up 4.0%, the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said.
In the structure of production, the largest share falls on manufacturing enterprises (78.6%).
The main factor in the growth of the physical volume of industrial production was an increase in manufacturing by 8.9% and electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning - by 2.3%, while there was a decrease in production at mining enterprises and quarrying - by 11,9% and water supply, sewage, waste collection and disposal - by 9.8%.
The volume of production produced by the enterprises of the mining industry and quarrying in January-March 2020 made up 9.9 trillion soums, or 12.0% of the total industry.
Compared to the same period in 2019, there is an increase in coal production by 29.6%, and crushed stone - by 6.1%. At the same time, there is a decrease in gas condensate production - by 5.1%, gravel - by 66.1%, oil - by 1.5%, koalin - by 81.9%, natural gas production - by 7.8%.
In January-March 2020, manufacturing enterprises produced goods worth 64.7 trillion soums, or 78.6% of the total industry.
In the structure of the manufacturing industry, the share of high-tech industries was 1.5% (1.2% in January-March 2019), medium-high-tech - 25.5% (26.9%), medium-low-tech - 39.4% (38.1%) and low-tech - 33.7% (33.8%).
In the manufacturing industry, the share of enterprises for the production, repair, assembly of machinery and equipment, the production of cars, trailers, semi-trailers and other finished products made up 21.6% (the physical volume index reached 17.7% by January-March 2019) industry - 25.2% (104.4%), enterprises for the production of textile, clothing and leather products - 16.9% (13.6%), for the production of food, beverages and tobacco - 14.3% (6 , 2%), enterprises for the production of chemical products, rubber and plastic products - 9.6% (9.1%).
In January-March 2020, the republic produced 282.7 thousand tons of gasoline (compared with the corresponding period in 2019, an increase of 15.5%), 2.5 million units of tobacco products - 0.1%), 70.0 thousand tons of cotton yarn (15.0%), 416.8 thousand tons of soft and spelled wheat flour (13.7) and 33.5 million liters of beer (10 ,8%).
In January-March 2020, 312 buses were manufactured in the republic (a decrease in production by 21.6% compared to the corresponding period in 2019).
The largest production volume in 2020 was recorded in March, amounting to 176 units.
In January-March 2020, 64.6 thousand automobile engines were produced in the republic (an increase of 33.2% compared to the corresponding period in 2019).
In 2020, the largest volume of production of these products was noted in March, amounting to 22.5 thousand units.
In January-March 2020, 1 014 trucks were produced in the republic (by the corresponding period of 2019, the volume of production decreased by 23.4%).
In 2020, the largest volume of production of these products was noted in March, amounting to 378 pcs.
Compared to the same period of 2019, the manufacturing industry increased the production of cars - 1.3 times, automobile engines - 1.3 times, gasoline - 1.2 times, running wheels, their parts and accessories - 1,2 times, radiators, silencers and exhaust pipes, clutches, steering wheels, steering columns, crankcase steering gears and parts thereof - 1.6 times.
In the automotive industry, in January-March 2020, 20,721 Nexia cars were produced (growth rates compared to the same period in 2019 were 132.1%), 17,759 - Cobalt (138.4%), 14,459 - Gentra (138.5%), 12 970 - Damas (125.3%), 8 256 - Spark (173.4%) and 1 470 -Labo (74.1%).
In January-March 2020, 222 tractors were produced in the republic (by January-March 2019, production growth increased by 2.2 times).
The largest volume of tractor production was recorded in February 2020, amounting to 118 pcs.
In January-March 2020, 259 pieces of cultivators were produced in the republic (a decrease in production was recorded by 14.2% compared to the corresponding period in 2019).

The overhaul of technological equipment allowed increasing the capacity utilization of chemical enterprises and exceeding the previous year’s production indicators for ammonium sulfate (112.6% to the January-March 2019), potassium chloride (108.0%) and caustic soda (2.8 times).
At the same time, there is a decrease in production of methyl alcohol (52.1% to the January-March 2019), and paints and varnishes based on acrylic or vinyl polymers (86.3%).
The volume of products produced by enterprises of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning made up 7.1 trillion soums (8.7% of the total industry).
The physical volume index of the industry, compared with the corresponding period in 2019, increased by 2.3%.
Compared to the corresponding period of 2019, there was an increase in textile waste production by 11.7% and non-hazardous waste collection services by 38.8% and services for emptying, cleaning and treating cesspools, sumps and septic tanks - by 18.1%. At the same time, a decrease in the volume of services for the disposal, transportation of wastewater and their treatment was recorded - by 2.3%.
As a result of measures taken to expand the range and stimulate the production of finished products, the production of consumer goods made up 22.9 trillion soums and, compared to the corresponding period of 2019, increased by 11.2%, the share in the total industry made up 27.9%.
Compared with the same period in 2019, in the structure of consumer goods production for January-March 2020, a decrease in the share of non-food products was recorded from 69.0% to 68.0%.
In the structure of food production, the production of alcoholic products and beer made up 7.9% (7.9% for January-March 2019).
In the structure of production of consumer goods of the republic, the largest share falls on the Andijan region (27.8% of the total volume of consumer goods), Tashkent city (19.0%), Tashkent (9.7%), Samarkand (6.9%) Khorezm (5.9%) region.
The largest growth in consumer goods production was recorded in Khorezm (19.7% to the corresponding period of 2019), Andijan (13.9%), Ferghana (114.2%), Namangan (13.1%), Tashkent (118.6 %) regions and the Tashkent city (12.8%) exceeding the average for the republic 11.2%).
In the structure of food production in the republic, the largest share falls on the city of Tashkent (19.9% of the total volume of food products), Tashkent (17.3%), Samarkand (8.3%), Ferghana (7.1%) and Kashkadarya (6.5%) region.
The largest increase in food production was recorded in Tashkent (25.7% to the January-March 2019), Ferghana (22.7%), Namangan (21.1%), Syrdarya (9.9%), Surkhandarya (11,9%) areas.
In the structure of production of non-food products of the republic, the largest share falls on the Andijan region (37.9% of the total non-food products), Tashkent city (18.6%), Samarkand (6.2%), Tashkent (6.1%) and Khorezm (6.6%) region.
The largest growth in the production of non-food products was recorded in Khorezm 23.8% compared to the corresponding period of 2019), Navoi (19.7%), Andijan (14.7%) regions and the Tashkent city (14.9%).
During the reporting period, enterprises with foreign investment produced products for 21.6 trillion soums, the share of which in the total volume of production made up 26.3%.
In the structure of industrial production of the republic, the largest share falls on the enterprises of Tashkent (18.8% of the republican volume of industry), Tashkent (16.9%), Navoi (15.4%), Andijan (10.4%) and Ferghana (5.8%) regions.
The smallest share of industrial production was recorded at the enterprises of Surkhandarya (1.5%) and Jizzakh (1.3%) regions.
The consistent implementation of measures to increase the industrial potential of the regions contributed to a significant increase in the index of the physical volume of industrial production in Surkhandarya (26.3% to the January-March 2019), Namangan (19.9%), Khorezm (10.7%), Jizzakh (7,3 %) regions and the Tashkent city (8.9%).
At the same time, there is a significant increase in the production of consumer goods in Khorezm (19.7% to the January-March 2019), Fergana (14.2%), Namangan (13.1%), Andijan (13.9%), Syrdarya (8.3%), Navoi (10.3%), Tashkent (18.6) regions and the Tashkent city (12.8%).
An analysis of the differentiation of industrial output per capita showed an excess of the national average indicator (2 420.6 thousand soums) in the Navoi region (12 713.3 thousand soums), Tashkent city (5 998.8 thousand soums), Tashkent (4 722.6 thousand soums) regions.
The production of consumer goods per capita in the reporting period in the republic made up 674.4 thousand soums, including 1 692.0 thousand soums in the Tashkent city, 2 035.9 thousand soums in the Andijan region, and 754 in the Tashkent region, 5 thousand soums, Navoi region - 711.6 thousand soums, Khorezm region - 723.6 thousand soums, Syrdarya region - 692.9 thousand soums.
For the reporting period, small businesses produced products for 23.6 trillion soums, the share of which in the total volume of production made up 28.7%.
In the context of regions, the largest share of small business was observed in Namangan region (60.3% of the total industry of the region), Tashkent city (51.0%), Jizzakh (53.6%), Samarkand (51.3%), Surkhandarya (40.5%) and Ferghana (36.4%) regions.
At the same time, the smallest share of small business was noted in Navoi (8.9%), Andijan (19.5%) and Tashkent (20.8%) regions, as well as in the Republic of Karakalpakstan (19.5%). Analysis of the structure of industrial production by regions of the republic showed that the low share of production of small businesses in the total industry is explained by the significant production volume of large industrial enterprises located in these regions.
Today, 73.7 thousand industrial enterprises operate in the republic, of which 15.3 thousand (20.8% of the total number of functioning enterprises) are in Tashkent city, 7.9 thousand (10.7%) - Ferghana, 7.9 thousand (10.8%) - Tashkent, 6.9 thousand (9.3%) - Andijan, 6.3 thousand (8.5%) - Samarkand and 5.7 thousand (7.8%) - Namangan regions.
In January-March 2020, 4,362 industrial enterprises were re-created in the republic, of which 558 (12.8% of the total number of newly created) are in Tashkent city, 422 (9.7%) - Tashkent, 470 (10,8%) - Andijan, 397 (9.1%) - Khorezm, 420 (9.6%) - Samarkand and 342 (7.8%) - Ferghana regions.
To date, the largest number of operating industrial enterprises is located in the cities of Andijan (2 606 units), Namangan (2 397 units), Samarkand (1 524 units), Kokand (1 361 units), as well as in the following districts of Tashkent city: Almazar (2 070 units), Chilanzar (1 939 units), Uchtepa (1 861 units), Yunusabad (1 680 units), Shaikhantakhur (1 402 units) and Sergeli (1 302 units).
As of April 1, 2020, the minimum number of operating industrial enterprises is located in the Shirin city (45 units) in the Syrdarya region; Ulugnor district (64 units) of Andijan region; Tamdy district (60 units) of Navoi region; Arnasay (56 units) and Yangiabad (50 units) districts of Jizzakh region; Kegeyli (57 units), Kanlykul (57 units), Takhtakupyr (50 units) and Bozatau (11 units) districts of the Republic of Karakalpakstan; Bandikhan district (10 units) of Surkhandarya region.
The development of the republic’s industrial production was also facilitated by the implementation of the Localization Program for the production of finished products, component parts, and materials, under which 690 projects produced goods worth 1.9 trillion soums, exported localized products worth $ 24.9 million, and 1,977 new jobs were created.
Compared with the same period in 2019, in January-March 2020, the number of newly created jobs increased 1.8 times. However, compared with January-March 2019, there is a decrease in the volume of export of localized products.
