Enter Engineering and Uralmashzavod to build an enrichment plant in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - Enter Engineering and Uralmashzavod (part of the Gazprombank industrial group) will build an enrichment plant in Uzbekistan. This was reported by the press service of Uralmashzavod.

The consortium of companies signed an EPC contract for the design, purchase and construction of a complex of a copper-processing plant in the city of Almalyk (MPF No. 3) with the Almalyk mining and processing plant (AGMK) - the largest producer of cathode copper in Uzbekistan.

The total cost of the contract is US$2 billion. The project will be completed in 2023.

As part of the project, Enter Engineering and Uralmashzavod will jointly build a turnkey factory at the AGMK.

In particular, Enter Engineering will carry out design and construction of the facility, and Uralmashzavod will supply a full range of technological equipment.

It is assumed that Uralmashzavod will manufacture more than 100 pieces of equipment for MOF No. 3 with a capacity of 60 million tons per year, including large-volume mills, crushing and transfer units, medium cone crushers, press rolls, screens of various types and other equipment.

“Almalyk MMC is implementing an investment project “Development of the Yoshlik-1 deposit”, which will significantly increase the volume of ore mining and processing, using modern technologies. With the commencement of ore mining from the Yoshlik deposit and its subsequent merger with the existing Kalmakyr open pit, this deposit will be one of the largest in the world. The signed contract is, in fact, the most important step in the implementation of the entire project,” says Bakhodirjon Sidikov. According to him, the choice of the consortium for the execution of the contract is based on its competitive advantages in terms of cost, terms of commissioning of the factory and the conditions for attracting financing for the entire amount of the contract. When evaluating the proposals, we also took into account the possibility of attracting local labor resources by the consortium, as well as localizing the production of spare parts and materials for the equipment used at the Central Repair and Mechanical Plant of Almalyk MMC.

“For five years, the designers have been developing new unique technology, improving existing products in order to provide our customers with equipment that fully meets their needs. Today Uralmashplant supplies the mining equipment market with modern high-tech machines that are in no way inferior to the best foreign counterparts, and surpass them in some parameters. This allows us to participate in the largest mining companies' projects,” says Jan Center.

The construction of an enrichment plant at AGMK is the first joint project of UZTM-KARTEX (combines Uralmashzavod and IZ-KARTEX) and Enter Engineering. In the future, the companies within the framework of the created association plan to participate in the construction of other facilities both in Central Asia and in Russia.
