Energy potential of Uzbekistan presented in the Netherlands

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 13 February 2020, a presentation of the energy potential of Uzbekistan, as well as a briefing on the upcoming first Tashkent International Investment Forum, which will be held on 5-6 March, took place in Delft (Netherlands).

The event was held in one of the most prestigious educational institutions of the Netherlands in the field of energy - the training center DOB-Academy.

The co-organizers were the Embassy of Kazakhstan in the Netherlands, which also presented its energy potential and the Dutch Association IRO, an independent non-profit organization specializing in providing services to energy companies. Among the participants were representatives of major oil and gas and industrial companies.

Opening the event, IRO Association Managing Manager Sander Vergroisen noted that Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan are currently the drivers of economic growth for the entire Central Asian region. “In light of the positive changes that we have been witnessing recently in the region, the interest of world energy leaders, in particular, to its two leading states, is growing with renewed vigor,” said the head of IRO.

The Ambassador of Uzbekistan to the Benelux countries, Dilyor Khakimov, presented to the participants information on the energy potential of Uzbekistan, as well as the reforms carried out in this sector in order to make full use of the available opportunities.

Special attention was paid to the upcoming first Tashkent International Investment Forum, which will be held under the theme "Implementation of the new growth program." In particular, it was noted that over the past three years, Uzbekistan has implemented ambitious economic reforms and liberalization measures, the effectiveness of which is highly appreciated by the international community.

During the event, negotiations were held with the head of the international company "CCC" Guus Hassani, who confirmed his participation in the forum in Tashkent, as well as the leadership of the IRO Association.
