Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Embassy of Uzbekistan in Russia warned compatriots against creating volunteer battalions and / or participating in hostilities on the territory of foreign states, for which criminal liability has been established, Dunyo news agency reported.
“The Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the Russian Federation warns compatriots against the creation of volunteer battalions and / or participation in military operations on the territory of foreign states for which criminal liability has been established,” reads a special press release published on the official website of the Embassy.
The diplomatic mission informs that according to Art. 154 "Mercenary" of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan, unlawful participation in armed conflicts or military operations on the territory of a foreign state is a crime. For the commission of this act, liability is provided in the form of imprisonment for a term of up to ten years.
The Embassy warns citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan that all persons, without exception, in respect of whom there is objective information about a committed illegal act under the above article of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan, will be held criminally liable.
The Embassy calls on our compatriots not to succumb to provocations and to exercise forethought.”
