Electricity production in Uzbekistan rises by 3.8% in the first nine months of 2025
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In January–September 2025, enterprises in Uzbekistan generated 62.54 billion kWh of electricity, an increase of 3.8% compared to the same period of 2024 (60.26 billion kWh), according to the National Statistics Committee.
The structure of production has changed notably: large enterprises reduced output to 45.10 billion kWh, down 15.6% from January–September 2024 (53.41 billion kWh).
In contrast, small enterprises demonstrated strong growth, boosting electricity generation more than 2.5 times — to 17.44 billion kWh, compared to 6.85 billion kWh a year earlier.
At the same time, thermal energy production at large enterprises declined. In the first nine months of 2025, they produced 14.59 thousand Gcal, down 11.7% from the corresponding period of 2024 (16.54 thousand Gcal).
