Elections of Senators to be held on 13-14 January 2015

In line with the article 52 of the law “On elections to Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan”, the Central Election Commission considered issues related to organization and holding elections to members of the Senate of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan.

According to article 50 of the law, members of the Senate are elected on equal number – six people from Karakalpakstan, regions and Tashkent city. Elections are held via secret voting at the sessions of MPs of Jokargy Kenes of Karakalpakstan, representative bodies of the regions, districts and cities from the MPs.

In line with the resolution of the Central Election Commission, the sessions of the MPs of Jokargy Kenes of Karakalpakstan, representative bodies of the regions, districts and cities should be held on 13-14 January 2015.
