Eldor Shomurodov and Timur Kapadze Named Uzbekistan’s Footballer and Coach of the Year 2025

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan has announced the results of its 2025 football season, recognizing the country’s top players, coaches, and referees.

Eldor Shomurodov was awarded the title of “Footballer of the Year.” The forward helped the national team qualify for the FIFA World Cup for the first time in history and also had a successful season with Turkish club İstanbul Başakşehir.

The Karakalpakstan Football Association was named “Best Regional Football Association of the Year” based on its performance during the season.

In the Women’s Super League, Diyorakhon Khabibullaeva became the top scorer with 31 goals, earning a special award as the league’s most prolific player.

The title of “Best Young Footballer of the Year” went to Sadriddin Khasanov, who won the AFC U-17 Championship with Uzbekistan U-17, was named the tournament’s best player, and also performed impressively at the FIFA U-17 World Cup.

In women’s football, Vladislav Khan was named “Best Coach of the Year.” Under his leadership, Sevinch became national champions and successfully represented Uzbekistan in the Women’s Champions League. Nilufar Kudratova was recognized as “Best Female Player” in the Women’s Super League, making a key contribution to her team’s success.

Timur Kapadze was named “Coach of the Year” after leading the Uzbekistan national team to its historic first FIFA World Cup qualification.

In youth football, Yusuf Ergashov received the “Best Youth Football Coach” award. As head of the Bunyodkor Academy, he won the OFA regional championship and prepared eight players for the national youth teams.

In refereeing, Nasibabonu Toshmukhammadova was recognized as “Best Female Referee of the Year”, officiating in the Super League and international competitions for the first time in 2025. Ilgiz Tantashov received the “Best Referee of the Year” award; he officiated key matches in the Club World Cup and is a candidate to referee at the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the USA, Canada, and Mexico.

Additionally, Diyorakhon Khabibullaeva was named “Best Female Footballer of the Year,” continuing to demonstrate a high level of performance throughout the season as a leader of the national women’s team.
