Egypt Air’s A-330-220 aircraft successfully departs for Beijing
On 8 June 2016, the Uzbek aviation authority was requested for emergency landing of Egyptian aircraft at Urgench Airport due to possible existence of an explosive device onboard of the plane, flying from Cairo to Beijing. There were 17 crewmembers and 118 passengers on board.
After emergency landing of Egyptian aircraft, the law enforcement forces of Uzbekistan inspected the aircraft and its cargo compartment for explosive devices. The existence of explosive device on the board of A330-220 not confirmed.
Urgench International Airport proveded all necessary assistance to the crew and passengers, the Uzbek company said. It added that the crew and passengers received hot meals.
At 18:30, the aircraft successfully departed for Beijing after full ground handling including fueling.
