Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 14 December 2022, economic consultations were held via videoconference between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Serbia.

The Uzbek side was represented by First Deputy Foreign Minister Furkat Sidikov. The Serbian side was headed by Assistant Minister for Economic Diplomacy Jagoda Lazarević.

The participants of the consultations exchanged views on the state and prospects of bilateral cooperation in the trade, economic and investment fields, as well as in the fields of innovation and information and communication technologies.

Particular attention was paid to deepening economic diplomacy by establishing and expanding direct contacts between the business entities of the two countries and the implementation of joint investment projects, using all its possible tools.

During the consultations, issues were also discussed on expanding the legal framework of Uzbek-Serbian cooperation, including in the trade and economic sphere through relevant and practically significant documents.

In order to intensify business ties, the parties agreed to work out the issues of holding an exhibition of Uzbek products "Made in Uzbekistan" in Belgrade in 2023, organizing a visit of the trade mission of Serbia to Uzbekistan to participate in the largest textile and food exhibitions, as well as creating an Uzbek-Serbian trading house.
