EBRD Backs Launch of MaxCopper Production Line in Tashkent
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — First Vice President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), Greg Gayett, visited the new production line of MaxCopper in the Yangihayot district of Tashkent. The launch ceremony was also attended by EBRD’s Uzbekistan representative, Andi Aranitasi.
During the visit, Greg Gayett emphasized the importance of supporting modern export-oriented projects like MaxCopper, noting that such initiatives contribute to industrial development and enhance Uzbekistan’s competitiveness in international markets.
The EBRD provided MaxCopper with a loan of up to €10 million. The funds will be used to launch and expand production, as well as purchase raw materials, including copper cathodes.
MaxCopper produces copper pipes and fittings for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, including light coils, straight pipes, and “pancake coil” products. Most of the output is intended for export to European countries and neighboring regions.
The project plays a key role in diversifying Uzbekistan’s industrial sector, implementing modern technologies, and meeting international quality standards.
