EBRD and Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Finance Discuss Expanding Cooperation and Financial Reforms
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 10 December, Francis Malige, Managing Director for Financial Institutions at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), met with Jamshid Kuchkarov, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Minister of Economy and Finance.
The parties discussed the development of mutually beneficial ties, prospective areas of cooperation, privatization, and transformation of state-owned banks, as well as the effectiveness of projects already implemented. Particular attention was paid to the current state of macroeconomic growth in the country, ongoing socio-economic and financial reforms, achieved results, and future objectives.
Following the negotiations, both sides agreed to continue active exchanges of views and to further develop cooperation within the framework of financial and economic reforms aimed at enhancing the resilience and efficiency of Uzbekistan’s economy.
