Earthquake in Afghanistan: Death Toll Reaches 2,205
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The death toll from the earthquake in Afghanistan has reached 2,205, with another 3,640 people injured, TASS reports, citing Hamdullah Fitrat, an official representative of the Taliban movement.
According to authorities, specialists continue rescue operations.
The earthquake, measuring magnitude 6, occurred during the night of September 1. It was followed by two aftershocks measuring 5.2 and 4.7 in magnitude.
