Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The first seminar on consumer rights protection for state bodies of the Republic of Uzbekistan was held by the Eurasian Economic Commission together with the authorized bodies of the states of the Eurasian Economic Union, the CIS Internet portal reports.

“Interaction with the observer states of the Union is one of the key areas of the international activity of the EAEU. Holding joint seminars aimed at the exchange of practical experience on sensitive issues opens up great prospects for the development of cooperation between the authorized bodies of the EAEU countries and Uzbekistan, - said Natalya Jukova, Director of the EEC Department of Sanitary, Phytosanitary and Veterinary Measures. “A systemic review of the best practices for protecting the rights and interests of consumers will make it possible to bring together the approaches of countries in the large Eurasian space and increase the efficiency of joint work in this area.”

The Commission provided information on the main aspects of the formation of a consumer rights protection system in the Union, as well as the directions and activities of the program of joint actions of the EAEU countries in this area.

The seminar participants from the Republic of Uzbekistan shared their practical experience of the work of the Consumer Rights Protection Agency under the Antimonopoly Committee. Representatives of state bodies of the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation informed about the peculiarities of regulation and legislative initiatives in the field of consumer protection. The issues of consumer protection in retail, e-commerce, housing and communal services were discussed.
