Dynamics of changes in energy costs in the main sectors of the national economy

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Experts from the Institute for Forecasting and Macroeconomic Research (IPMI) analyzed the dynamics of changes in energy costs in the main sectors of the national economy.

With the current dynamics of relative prices for energy resources (electricity, gas, oil, coal), their costs in the cost structure of production in 2016-2018. were relatively stable and amounted to about 4%.

Starting from 2019, there has been a trend of rapid growth in the share of energy costs from 4% in the production of goods and services to 7%.

The most energy-intensive sectors of the republic's economy are the primary sector (agriculture, extractive industries) as well as the sector that includes electricity, construction and new types of services.

Among industries and activities, the highest priority should be given to energy saving measures in oil and gas production, production of building materials (cement, bricks, etc.), in public administration, as well as in electricity generation.
