Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev awarded the Plenipotentiary and Extraordinary Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Tajikistan Ergash Shaismatov with the Dustlik order. This is reported in the decree of the head of state.
The order was awarded “for many years of fruitful work in government bodies, effective work on the comprehensive deepening of strategic partnership relations, bringing to a new level of multifaceted and long-term cooperation between Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, as well as a significant contribution to the further strengthening of the bonds of friendship and harmony between Uzbek and Tajik peoples”.
Ergash Shoismatov (born in 1951, graduate of the Tashkent Polytechnic Institute) in different years worked as the Minister of Energy and Electrification, the chairman of the Uzbekenergo company (2001-2006), as well as the Deputy Prime Minister (2006-2010) - the head of the government complex for issues of geology, fuel and energy complex, chemical, petrochemical and metallurgical industries.
From February 2014, he was the chairman of the Republican Council of the Trade Union of Energy Workers, from December 2016 to August 2017, the chairman of the board of Uztransgaz. Prior to his appointment as ambassador, he served as chairman of the Republican Council of the Energy Workers Trade Union.
