During the New Year and holiday period, medical institutions to operate around the clock

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — During the New Year and holiday period, medical institutions in Uzbekistan will operate around the clock.

The Ministry of Health reports that a special headquarters has been established under the Ministry of Health to coordinate the operations of medical institutions during the holiday and additional non-working days.

From 28 December to 2 January, hospitals, specialized medical centers, medical universities’ clinics, and 39 inter-district trauma and emergency centers will operate in shifts.

Medical professionals in the country’s healthcare system will provide services in accordance with established protocols. During this period, around 40,000 medical workers will be on duty, and additional jobs and medical supplies will be provided.

During the holidays, the Republic Research Center for Emergency Medical Assistance and its 13 branches, as well as emergency medical stations in 200 settlements, will continue to operate around the clock. They will ensure the availability of necessary medications and establish backup workplaces.

Emergency medical services will play a crucial role during the holidays. Due to the declared days off for the New Year, emergency medical teams will continue their regular duties. More than 2,800 teams across the country will be on standby to respond quickly to calls.

Additionally, 230 maternity hospitals and 235 children’s healthcare institutions across the country will continue to operate during the festive period.

For qualified medical consultations, the Republic Call Center (1003), which operates 24/7, can be contacted.
