Drug Trafficking of Regapen Blocked in Ferghana Region

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — An attempt to illegally transport a large consignment of a potent pharmaceutical drug, Regapen, has been stopped in Uzbekistan’s Ferghana region. The shipment was en route to the city of Kokand.

The operation was conducted by officers of the regional branch of the State Security Service in cooperation with customs authorities and internal affairs bodies as part of efforts to combat the illegal circulation of narcotic and controlled substances.

According to investigators, two residents of Kokand born in 1994 and 2002, together with an associate from Kushtepa district born in 2001, traveled by car to Ferghana district, where they received 11,650 units of the potent drug Regapen. It has been established that the batch was illegally imported into the country from a neighboring state.

After collecting the shipment, the suspects headed back toward Kokand. In the Uchkupirik district, their vehicle was stopped by an оператив group. During the arrest, the suspects attempted to discard the packages and flee the scene, but were detained on the spot.

Investigators stated that the detainees were involved in the further distribution of the substances among residents of Ferghana and Kokand.

A criminal case has been opened, and investigative procedures are ongoing.
