Drug Crimes Uncovered in Tashkent and Ferghana Regions
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Law enforcement agencies in Tashkent and Ferghana regions have uncovered several drug-related crimes. Operations involved the Border Troops, the State Security Service, and local police.
In Tashkent region, a 1998-born resident of Bekabad was detained after illegally crossing the Syr Darya River from Tajikistan. Authorities seized 5.031 kg of hashish, which was recorded as evidence.
In the capital, a check at a private medical clinic revealed 1.367 kg of hashish belonging to a patient born in 1970.
In Ferghana region, a 1998-born resident of Ferghana District was caught in possession of 1.021 kg of hashish, secretly left by an accomplice. Two grams of opium were also seized from his home. The accomplice, also born in 1998, was later detained.
Another case occurred in Koshtepin District, where a 1999-born citizen attempted to flee in a Nexia car with 996 g of hashish.
Criminal cases have been initiated against all detainees, who remain in custody. Investigations are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the offenses.
