Driver falls asleep at the wheel and sies in Jizzakh eegion

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A traffic accident in the Sharof Rashidov district of Jizzakh region on the morning of 13 March resulted in a fatality, according to the regional traffic police department.

The accident occurred at approximately 06:50 on a highway passing through the district.

Preliminary reports indicate that the driver of a Matiz traveling from Samarkand to Tashkent fell asleep at the wheel. The vehicle veered into the oncoming lane and collided with a truck.

The driver of the passenger car died at the scene from his injuries.

Law enforcement authorities are currently conducting a preliminary investigation.
