Drinking water supply to improve in Jizzak regions

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- As a result of the implementation of the project "Improving the drinking water supply system of Jizzakh region through the use of water from the Zarafshan River", the centralized drinking water supply will be improved for 600,000 residents of Bakhmal, Galyaaral, Sharaf-Rashidov, Dustlik, Pakhtakor, Mirzachul districts Jizzakh region and the city of Jizzakh.

Within the framework of this project, construction is planned:

- 1 water-lifting pumping station with a capacity of 100 thousand cubic meters per day and 1 water sedimentation basin;

- main water pipeline of drinking water supply with diameters of 1200 mm, length 16.6 kilometers from the first water-lifting pumping station to the water treatment plant "Uzunbulok";

- water treatment plant "Uzunbulok", with a capacity of 100 thousand cubic meters per day;

- main water pipeline of drinking water supply "Uzunbulok - Gagarin", with a length of 166 kilometers;

- water distribution facility "Jizzakh";

- main water supply system for drinking water supply, 4 kilometers long from the "Jizzakh" water sediment basin to the city of Jizzak.

To date, a total of 75.764 kilometers of pipes have been laid. Of them:

- fiberglass main water pipeline, 51.9 kilometers long, 1000 and 800 millimeters in diameter.

- installation of main pipes with a length of 15.5 kilometers and a diameter of 1200 millimeters was carried out.

- the installation of iron pipes with a length of 3.1 kilometers and a diameter of 800 millimeters was carried out.

- installation of polyethylene pipes with a length of 2.8 kilometers and a diameter of 800 millimeters was carried out.

- installation of polyethylene pipes with a length of 2.464 kilometers and a diameter of 720 millimeters was carried out.
