Diyorbek Mukhammedov Appointed as Regional Manager of Wallet in Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Wallet service on Telegram has appointed Diyorbek Mukhammedov as its Regional Manager for Uzbekistan, he announced on his LinkedIn page.
Prior to joining Wallet, Mukhammedov worked at Uzcard, where he oversaw product development and international cooperation, including the launch of the premium Sherdor card. He was also involved in promoting Visa products and business development in Uzbekistan.
“I took on this role because I believe that economic development is directly linked to the accessibility and simplicity of financial services for the population. Wallet has a unique opportunity to make this a reality, as it is natively integrated into the number one application that tens of millions of people in Uzbekistan use every day — Telegram,” Mukhammedov said.
In his new position, he will be responsible for the development of the service and ensuring its sustainable presence in Uzbekistan. His key responsibilities include scaling the product and brand with regard to local market specifics, growing the user base, and building partnerships with financial institutions, payment and fintech companies, regulators, and local partners.
Mukhammedov will also oversee resource allocation, operational efficiency, and the long-term sustainability of the business in the country.
“This is only the beginning: many new features and local use cases for Wallet will appear in the near future. I look forward to building partnerships and jointly developing the ecosystem,” he added.
Wallet crypto wallets on Telegram officially began operating in Uzbekistan in December 2025. The platform enables users to buy and sell Bitcoin, Toncoin, USDT, and more than 200 other popular cryptocurrencies using local payment systems.
The service operates under a license from the National Agency of Perspective Projects and provides user identification and data protection, creating a secure and transparent environment for users and partners.
