Director of the Agency for State Assets Holds Talks with Turkish Ambassador to Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 4 March, the Director of the Agency for State Assets of the Republic of Uzbekistan held a meeting with Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Uzbekistan, Ufuk Ulutan.

During the meeting, both sides emphasized that relations between Uzbekistan and Turkey continue to develop in the spirit of high trust and strategic partnership. It was noted that systemic reforms implemented in recent years have elevated investment and trade-economic ties between the two countries to a new level.

Particular attention was given to specific proposals for expanding the participation of Turkish business circles in Uzbekistan’s privatization processes. The Turkish side supported the idea of establishing a mechanism to directly convey investment proposals for state assets to leading holdings, sectoral associations, and major industrial groups in Turkey, with practical assistance from the embassy, as well as holding a large-scale investment roadshow in Ankara or Istanbul.

The parties also discussed the implementation of joint projects within the framework of the Tashkent International Investment Forum this year, including presentations of investment-attractive state assets, sectoral panel sessions, and B2G and B2B meetings aimed at attracting Turkish investors to the privatization process.

At the conclusion of the talks, participants noted that the meeting marked an important step toward further developing bilateral economic cooperation and advancing mutually beneficial partnerships through the implementation of investment projects.
